From the initials of the Greek phrase meaning "friendship is essential to the soul," the name Omega Psi Phi was derived. Manhood, scholarship, perseverance and uplift were adopted as cardinal principles.Since their founding, these groups have played a major role in the cultural, social and civic life of their communities. A decision was made regarding the design for the pin and emblem, and thus ended the first meeting of the The next meeting was conducted on November 23, 1911.

In addtions, you must type in "Pi Gamma Chapter Endowment" at the other links when the donation page from Norfolk State Unviersity opens up. The first charted line was in 1962 and the chapter has well over 400 Brothers around the world.
The funds donated for the endowment account are deposited directly into the endowment account at Norfolk State University and only the interest gained is spent in support of scholarships for Pi Gamma Chapter's undergraduates only.
All donations to the endowment account are a 100% write off for your taxes.
